“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” 1 Peter 5:7 (KJV)
Reflection
The evening is the hour when the household is tempted to sleep with everything still in its arms — every worry, every unfinished conversation, every uncertain outcome that will be there tomorrow anyway. Peter offers a very kind exchange. Cast — a strong word — every care, and He will carry it while we rest. It is not that the cares disappear. It is that they are put in the right pair of hands. We wake tomorrow with a shorter list of things we are still holding, because the Lord has been holding most of them through the night. This is the mercy of Christian sleep.
Prayer line
Lord, I cast every care upon you tonight. You hold what I cannot. I sleep in that. Amen.
May the Lord bless you and keep you.
